Becca, Lucie and I decided a great way to spend our holiday break would be to start a charity project. As we've worked with ImpactHK through school (and Covid has prevented all ECAs from running this school year), thought it would be fun to create our own project.
Fundraising plan
Goal - sign up 200+ walkers and raise $50,000
Mission - spread word of ImpactHK, provide easy activity to participate in during Covid, develop community awareness and participation
Rules - will borrow the 10,000 step a day challenge rules from Rotary challenge
Marketing-
- Create sandwich boards, recruit members in plaza, through existing contacts and at ferry pier
- Contact DBIS PTSA facebook page about post
- AroundDB magazine for magazine article and SM post
- Provide silicone bracelet to every participant to wear during duration of challenge
Offset costs - enlist local business to pay for sandwich boards, silicone bracelets
Communication- use whatsapp broadcast list to send texts and video messages to all participants. Collect funds via HSBC bank transfer, Payme or cash payment
